Nekupe Sporting Resort and Retreat

Resort - Luxury All-inclusive - Personalized Service - Michelin Inspired Meals

Description:

Nekupe Sporting Resort & Retreat is a 2,400-acre nature reserve in Nicaragua’s Pacific country that offers opportunities for stimulating your mind, body, and soul. It is the vision of Don Alfredo Jr. and Dona Theresa Pellas, avid travelers and adventure enthusiasts whose commitment to nature is exhibited through the resort’s core principles of respect and stewardship of the environment.

Nekupe is located in Nandaime, the “place of abundant streams.” It is just 1.5 hours from the Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in Managua, 30 minutes from the charming colonial city of Granada and just over an hour from the Pacific Coast.

Nekupe houses an animal sanctuary with more than 158 species of plants, including more than 100,000 trees that were planted throughout the reserve. Wildlife and fauna is sustained by the reservoirs developed by a team of local experts and ecologists. The sobering aura of the grounds serves as a backdrop for a variety of recreational activities and nature appreciation.

Nekupe is a seamless combination of sustainable nature-based design, Feng Shui inspiration, rich Nicaraguan cultural heritage, warm hospitality, and Feng Shui inspiration. It fosters exploration, adventure and wellbeing, as well as peace. Horseback riding, mountaintop yoga and skeet shooting are some of the options.

About Managua

Managua (Spanish pronunciation: [maˈnaɣwa]) is the capital and largest city of Nicaragua, and the center of an eponymous department. Located on the southwestern shore of Lake Managua and inside the Managua Department, it has an estimated population of 1,055,247 in 2020 within the city's administrative limits and a population of 1,401,687 in the metropolitan area, which additionally includes the municipalities of Ciudad Sandino, El Crucero, Nindirí, Ticuantepe and Tipitapa. The city was declared the national capital in 1852. Previously, the capital alternated between the cities of León and Granada. The 1972 Nicaragua earthquake and years of civil war in the 1980s severely disrupted and stunted Managua's growth. == Etymology == There are two possible origins for the name "Managua".
